The “Bell Tone”

Ballet Class Music 26 February 2010 | Comments Off on The “Bell Tone”

You might have noticed from our free samples, that before the introduction, there’s a “bell tone”, or an introductory beat. This is so that the dancers and students are able to pick up the first beat of the intro, where necessary. This can make working with a CD easier. In a live setting, a dance teacher might begin with “…and…”, which of course isn’t part of most CDs.

The bell tone replaces the “and”, making it easier for dancers and students to work more easily with a CD.
